MCP Tools Reference

FinPlan exposes its financial engine as MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools. These are the functions your AI assistant calls on your behalf when you ask financial planning questions.

This reference documents every available tool, organized by category.

Conventions

  • Money values are in cents (integers). 100000 = $1,000.00. Responses include both _cents and _dollars fields.
  • Rates and returns are decimals. 0.07 = 7%.
  • Allocations use 0.0-1.0 for rates, 0-100 for percentages.
  • Dates use YYYY-MM-DD format.
